History

History

History at Saltaire Primary fires children’s curiosity to ask questions and enables all children, regardless of background or learning needs, to discover the story of our locality, our nation of islands, our continent and the wider world. Children will develop a chronological framework of history that will enable them to make sense of new knowledge they acquire. This in turn will allow them to understand the process of change, to see how we arrived ‘here’ and help them to make sense of the present. We want our children to realise that history does not stand alone and is interlinked with the wider curriculum for example through scientific, mathematical and technological discoveries, geography, religion, art and PHSE. History at Saltaire Primary supports our children to become analytical citizens who can question human motivation and society with skill and confidence.
